Return & Refund Policy

Returns on Food Products

At Royal Gourmet Foods, we take pride in delivering fresh, high-quality products crafted with care. Due to the perishable nature of our food items, all sales are generally considered final.
We do not accept returns or exchanges on food products once they have been purchased, except in the cases outlined below and as required by applicable law.


Your Rights Under British Columbia & Canadian Law

This policy is provided in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, including the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and other relevant Canadian regulations.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your legal rights. Under BC law:

 

  • Products must be fit for their intended purpose

  • Products must be of merchantable (acceptable) quality

  • Products must match their description

If a product does not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a remedy such as a refund, replacement, or repair.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If you receive a product that is:

  • Damaged

  • Defective

  • Expired

  • Unsafe for consumption

  • Incorrect (not what you ordered)
     

Please contact us within 48 hours of purchase or delivery.
To process your request, we may require:
 

  • Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice)

  • Clear photos of the product and packaging

  • Product batch or expiry details (if applicable)
     

Once reviewed, we will offer one of the following in accordance with applicable laws:
 

  • Replacement of the product

  • Store credit

  • Refund (if required or appropriate)
     

Food Safety & Handling

To ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations, including those governed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:
 

  • Returned items must remain unused and in original packaging

  • Products that have been opened, partially consumed, or improperly stored may not be eligible for return

  • We reserve the right to refuse claims that do not meet food safety requirements
     

Due to the nature of perishable goods, safe handling and proper storage after purchase are the responsibility of the customer.

Refund Processing

If your claim is approved:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method

  • Please allow 5–10 business days for processing

  • Shipping or delivery fees are non-refundable unless required by law or due to our error
     

Products Purchased from Retail Stores

If you purchased Royal Gourmet Foods products from a grocery store or third-party retailer:
 

  • Please contact the original place of purchase

  • Their return policy will apply, subject to applicable consumer protection laws
     

Order Cancellations

Orders may only be cancelled if they have not yet been processed or shipped.
Once fulfilled, orders cannot be cancelled due to the perishable nature of our products, except where required by law.


Limitation & Fair Use

We reserve the right to limit or refuse refunds or replacements in cases of:
 

  • Suspected misuse, abuse, or fraudulent claims

  • Repeated refund requests beyond reasonable circumstances
     

This does not affect your statutory rights under applicable laws.
